While insurance may be the most important financial planning tool for some, many do not recognize and support the idea of “insurance”. The main reason for such a misconception arises from the lack of appropriate channels to better understand insurance as a profession, causing the society to have a deviated understanding of the profession. Mr. Tan Lay Seong, the Founder of Great Ideals Group, has been indignant about such negative perceptions since the beginning of his career. He is of the opinion that the insurance profession should be of the same standing as other professionals, such as doctors, lawyers and engineers. As such, he embarked on a mission to elevate the image and reputation of InsurePreneurs within the society.
The insurance industry has always struggled to detach itself from the traditional business model and this has, to some extent, limited the growth and development of the insurance industry. The Founder has always held on to his belief that the insurance industry is not merely a business, but it is a large enterprise which requires greater innovations and investments in order to reap greater progress. In 2010, the Founder established Great Ideals Group and utilized innovative business management methods, including setting out schemes in line with the future developments of the profession, and at the same time promoting new ideas, such as: strategy, system, mechanism, brand recognition, standardization and technological improvements. Great Ideals Group has focused its investments on the latest hardware and technological systems, as well as acquiring high end corporate offices, targeting to create the ideal symbiotic system within the Group’s corporate culture. The innovative business methods have proven to fundamentally reform the image and potential of the insurance industry.
